Rare teas - Kyushu
Kyushu Teas
Kyushu is the southwestern island of Japan—less well-known than the Shizuoka or Uji regions, but recognized among connoisseurs for the unique quality of its teas. A mild climate, rich volcanic soils, and a tea-growing tradition passed down from generation to generation produce leaves of rare complexity.
The teas we select here are grown and processed by artisans who reject mass production. Hand-picked and crafted using traditional methods, they express the terroir of Kyushu in all its subtlety—natural umami, deep vegetal notes, and a persistent aftertaste.
These are teas you won't find in supermarkets, rarely in specialty grocery stores, and which few European importers bother to source directly.
